Even when you’re in the same room, you feel miles apart. The connection that once felt so easy now feels strained, and the loneliness in the relationship can feel heavier than being alone.

You’ve probably tried to fix it on your own. Maybe you've avoided the hard conversations, pushed your feelings down to keep the peace or tried to talk it out, only to find yourselves talking over each other, each trying desperately to be heard. Despite your efforts, nothing seems to change.
There is another way.

What does work? Learning how to safely share the deeper, more vulnerable emotions—like pain, fear, and longing—that often hide beneath the surface of anger and frustration. Together, we’ll work to rebuild trust and connection using research-based strategies for healthy communication and effective conflict resolution. In counseling, you’ll learn how to really hear each other, repair after conflict, and create a new foundation of emotional intimacy.
You don’t have to keep going in circles. Healing is possible, and I’m here to help you find your way forward—together.

 Hi, I'm Kristen! 

I provide therapy for couples through personalizing a step by step approach to achieving our specific goals. I see each of my couples as unique and dive deeply with them in our sessions to understand their needs, history, and future hopes. I collaborate with my couples on a weekly or bi-weekly basis providing research-based strategies and collecting feedback on improvements or problems to shape our sessions along the way. I want to have my couples leaving therapy feeling confident in their ability to navigate hardships together, supportive in their communication, and hopeful for their future. 

How Therapy Works 
Step 1:  Reach out to me today through phone call or email. I'll answer any questions you have and ensure that we are a good fit. 
Step 2: During our first meeting I will work with you to identify your expectations and hopes for our sessions. Together we will create a detailed plan that will guide future steps and serve as a progress marker to check in with throughout our time together. In our weekly or bi-weekly meetings we will address problematic patterns in your relationship and collaborate in creating new perspectives and strategies that fit your specific needs. I will check in with you regularly regarding your experience of progress, continuing to shape our sessions based on this feedback. In this way sessions are tailored specifically to your needs, including changes along the way. 
Step 3: As goals are achieved we will start to end our time together. At this phase I will work with you to leave you feeling confident about maintaining the progress you have created in your relationship. We will strive to shape a stronger connection for the future. 

​Session Fee:

My rate for a standard 50-minute session is $120. I am also currently in-network with United Healthcare and Aetna. If you are planning to pay through your insurance, please notify me before the first session. I can also provide a "superbill" upon request, for out of network insurance companies. 
Finances should not prevent you from receiving services! If my regular rates would hinder you from obtaining therapy, please bring this to my attention so that we can find the best fit for you.
